Baker Tilly Nigeria: Growing, Learning, and Kicking Goals at Ilaji Resorts

As part of our quest for Continuing Professional Development (CPD), the Baker Tilly Nigeria family stepped away from our Excel files and Audit checklists to engage in something equally important: growth, connection, and yes, a bit of fun.

From January 9th to 11th 2025, our annual staff training took us to the serene Ilaji Resorts, where we immersed ourselves in learning, bonding, and team spirit.

The sessions were rich with insights from our highly experienced partners and other facilitators. We went deep into Nigeria’s new tax policies, dissected the CAMA 2020 checklist, sharpened our focus on audit quality and ethics using our bespoke audit software, and tackled risk response techniques across the audit process.

For us, this wasn’t all about ticking technical or compliance boxes; we were building our collective excellence to deliver the best for our numerous clients across various industries.

But we didn’t stop there. In true Baker Tilly fashion, we balanced brains with brawn. The highlight? A thrilling football match between our Lagos and Ibadan branches!

While audit quality may be our forte, it turns out we’re not half bad on the pitch either. It was the perfect way to blow off steam and foster some healthy competition.

And let’s not forget the food – three whole days of delicious meals that kept our energy up and spirits high. Because what’s a retreat without great food, right?

We left Ilaji Resorts rejuvenated, refocused, and ready to take on 2025 with fresh perspectives and renewed vigor.
